If you don’t want to read the rest of this, just click here and donate! Otherwise, here is my spiel:
As many of you know, data blogging is not my full time job. It is a pretty weird hobby that I do after my toddler goes to bed. My full time job is at Luther Burbank Middle School, the pride of Highland Park, where I am an 8th grade math teacher and MESA advisor.
My students need your help.
As part of our MESA competition, we have been 3D printing things like crazy. Here is a picture of one of the servo-controlled claws that my students designed and printed for a prosthetic arm.
But at this point, there is so much interest in 3D printing things for their engineering projects that we have a 3 day waiting list to use the printer.
The solution is simple: we need a second 3D printer. This will allow us to really speed up production and make sure all of my MESA students have access to the design tools of the future.
The best news is this: The Stavros Niarchos foundation will match your donation dollar for dollar. That means we only need to raise $340 to cover a $680 3D printer.
If you can donate, my students would greatly appreciate it, and they will supply you with thank you cards and photo updates.
